If the estimated cost of repairs does not exceed your deductible, we advise against filing a claim. Your deductible is what you will pay out of pocket, and insurance will cover the rest (up to the stated limit on your policy). So, if your deductible is not met, your insurance carrier will not cover any costs. Additionally, if you do file a claim without reaching you deductible, there is still a potential for your renewal rate to increase more due to the claim being on record.
